ONE MILLION SERVED!

Yes, it’s true. Since The Loft became a nonprofit in 2002, more than one million people have come through our doors!

The Loft is Tucson’s scrappy, grassroots art cinema that has pulled itself up by its bootstraps to become one of the most dynamic independent theatres in the US.

The Loft has wrapped up Phase I of its Building for the Future Campaign. We’ve raised more than $1 million through 967 donations from 556 people. Talk about grassroots!

Those dollars have been stretched to the limit, in true Loft-style! We have a fabulous third screen and 80 new parking spaces. You’ll be noticing new programming as we begin to play with the expanded capacity! A Film & Book Club, TV on the giant screen, Night School for Film Lovers! Trivia nights! Ballet, Concerts, Operas!

We have digital technology in both the new screen and the main theater – and that means we can keep showing movies as 35mm prints are replaced by digital files. (If you haven’t been to the main theatre lately or checked out the new space, prepare to be amazed at the beautiful images and the incredible sound!)

But we’re not done! We need to make the rest of The Loft as comfortable and fabulous as the new screen – and we must get digital technology in the theater upstairs.

We need to be more accessible! We need a bigger lobby with a box office and concession stand that can serve our ever-growing audience. We need safe and plentiful bicycle parking!
