THAT'S MY TAKE 2008: SUMMER VIDEO SHOOTOUT

SUMMER VIDEO SHOOTOUT

Saturday, September 6th at 10:00 am
Admission: FREE

Presented by the Pima County Public Library, in collaboration with Pan Left Productions

This summer, youth in Pima County had the opportunity to receive training and mentoring to create a short video as a part of Pima County Public Library’s That’s My Take 2008: Summer Video Shootout program. This program encourages creativity, youth voices, participation in the arts, and literacy. It also gives youth a safe, cool, and fun summer project.

Through participation in workshops and peer mentoring, eight youth crews learned the ins and outs of filmmaking—writing, directing, and producing a short video. Each video incorporates books or the library as a subject or theme. For example, the film might take place at the library, be about a library program or book, or have a librarian or library customers as characters.

All of the finished pieces will be screened at this special Shootout event at the Loft, and admission is free and open to the entire community.

The Summer Video Shootout is a free program paid for by Friends of the Pima County Public Library. For more information contact Matt Landon at matt.landon@pima.gov.
