"A wildly imaginative fantasy…” - Mark Deming, THE NEW YORK TIMES
“A chaotic, rock ‘n’ roll kaleidoscope with creative freedom and contagious laughs...” -FANTASIA FILM FESTIVAL
**Featuring a soundtrack loaded with music from some of Tucson's finest musical talent, including Naim Amor, Jeff Grubic, The Jons, and Serge of Bebe and Serge, along with French rock band The Little Rabbits and chanteuse Vanessa Paradis!
Vanessa Paradis (star of Girl on the Bridge, and wife of actor Johnny Depp) stars alongside Jason Flemyng and Benoît Poelvoorde in the lyrical French sci-fi flick ATOMIK CIRCUS, featuring a rocking soundtrack filled with music supplied by some of Tucson's most talented musicians, as well as their counterparts from France. In this "French Alien Rock-n-Roll Romeo and Juliet Extravaganza," filmmaking team The Poiraud brothers mix hillbilly hijinks and face-sucking aliens into a bizarrely quirky, one-of-a-kind cinematic stew that just might make cult film lovers open up and say "Yum!"
In the small, kooky swampland town of Skotlett, bar owner Bosco (Jean-Pierre Marielle) runs the show. His daughter Concia (Vanessa Paradis) is an aspiring rock star and the object of stuntman James’ (Jason Flemyng) affection. After one of James’ aerial stunts goes horribly wrong, destroying Bosco’s ‘Sam Paradiso’ bar, he is sentenced to 133 years in jail. Desperate to be with Concia, James escapes from jail and returns to Skotlett just in time to save his love from the clutches of sleazy entertainment showman Allan Chiasse (Benoît Poelvoorde). And wouldn't you know it, on the eve of the town’s famous Cow Pie Festival in which Concia is to perform, a swarm of tentacled, blood spurting, flying aliens invade and brutally attack the town. Can the Earth (or at least the Cow Pie Festival) be saved?
