BAGHEAD

STARTS FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 12TH
"It’s very funny, it’s smart, and it could be really scary. And it really has some nice performances as well." - Richard Roeper, EBERT AND ROEPER
"A clever insider's riff about life on the lo-fi end of the indie spectrum." - Peter Debruge, VARIETY
"Wildly funny." - SCREEN DAILY
A quartet of under-employed, sexually-frustrated, self-absorbed actors take a weekend trip into the woods to get away from it all, and maybe to write a screenplay for an indie film in which they can star. When the notion arises to write a movie about the scariest thing they can dream up, the legend of BAGHEAD is born. In between bouts of reckless drinking, aborted writing sessions, sloppy arguments, futile attempts at coupling and obnoxious navel-gazing, the wanna-be filmmakers are terrorized by the mysterious manifestation of their very-sketchy script ... a creepy, stoic stranger running around the woods wearing, you guessed it, a brown paper bag on his head. Is Baghead real, or the figment of four very overactive imaginations? Is Baghead really on a murder spree, or is it all a cruel prank? And will Baghead force them to answer the ultimate question - Paper or Plastic?
The Duplass Brothers, creators of the great 2005 indie hit Puffy Chair, have here uncorked a hilarious, tongue-in-cheek, genre-twisting comedy ... one that might also scare the pants off you. Taking the absurdly low-concept idea of a “guy with a bag on his head” and making a funny, truthful, endearing film that also contains enough "jump out of your seat moments" to satisfy those looking for some cheap thrills, BAGHEAD is a wholly original and unexpected surprise that not only satirizes the world of indie filmmaking, but also embraces it with a big, warm hug (while simultaneously placing a brown paper bag on its head, of course).
