THE YOUNG FILMMAKERS FILM AND VIDEO FESTIVAL

Saturday, July 12th at 10:00 a.m.
Admission: FREE
Part of the 2008 Tucson International Children's Film Festival
Presented by The Glassman Foundation
See what Tucson's talented young filmmakers (grades K-12) are cooking up at this special one-morning film festival highlighting short films made by kids from around the Old Pueblo. Comedy, drama, animation, music videos ... who knows what these future Spielbergs and Scorseses will create for the big screen? The only way to find out is to show up and see for yourself!
For this special festival, the Loft Cinema formed community partnerships with the Tucson Museum of Art, Access Tucson and the Pima Public Library, who all recruited middle and high school-aged kids into their video and film production classes and trained them in the art of short filmmaking and/or studio production. For most of them, this festival will be their first opportunity to see their productions shown on the big screen in front of a large audience. This is also a chance for the community to celebrate the creativity of our youth and to gain an insight into the challenges, passions and questions that occupy their thoughts and inform their work. The project also aims to expose students, including those from low-income areas, to films they might not otherwise have the opportunity to see.
THE YOUNG FILMMAKERS FILM AND VIDEO FESTIVAL is part of the 2008 Tucson International Children's Film Festival, presented by The Glassman Foundation.
