THE WOMEN ON THE 6TH FLOOR

**Ends Thursday, February 2nd**
"The French have a knack for it. They’ve been making funny and agreeable movie farces for forever, and seeing THE WOMEN ON THE 6TH FLOOR makes you hope they’ll never stop.” – Kenneth Turan, THE LOS ANGELES TIMES
"A carefully-tailored crowd-pleaser ... fun and entertaining." - Elizabeth Weitzman, NEW YORK DAILY NEWS
"The best Pedro Almodovar movie not directed by Almodovar, this is a Gallic version of The Help ... A fun and even timely class fable." - James Verniere, THE BOSTON HERALD
This hilarious comedy of manners takes place in Paris in the early 1960s. Jean-Louis (Fabrice Luchini, POTICHE), a serious, uptight stockbroker, is married to Suzanne (Sandrine Kiberlain, MADEMOISELLE CHAMBON), a neurotic, class-conscious socialite. The affluent couple leads a reassuringly steady, yet deadly boring, bourgeois life—until Maria, their charming new maid, introduces Jean-Louis to the other Spanish women sharing the cramped servants’ quarters on the sixth floor of the luxury building he owns and lives in. Worlds collide as the sassy immigrant women (including two of Almodóvar’s favorite señoritas, Carmen Maura and Lola Dueñas), refugees of the Franco regime, help the stuffy Jean-Louis see that there’s more to life than stocks and bonds, and soon, the balance of the household ruptures into wild, cross-cultural chaos! A riotous upstairs/downstairs farce with a conscience, WOMEN ON THE 6TH FLOOR proves it’s never too late to teach an old dog new tricks.
