Come see this special "sneak peek" screening of the new short film ESMERALDA DEL DESIERTO and meet artist/activist Oscar Jimenez in person! Followed by a panel discussion featuring the filmmakers and representatives from local immigration and transgender rights groups.

Esmeralda del Desierto, a short film made by Tucson artist and activist Oscar Jimenez, tells the story of Esmeralda, a transgender artist living in Mexico . Esmeralda has managed to carve out an existence despite strong odds. She has dreams grander than her town will allow, and so she sets out to conquer the fashion world in New York City . Esmeralda del Desierto celebrates the creative spirit that transcends borders. The film features original music, score and costumes produced by local artists. A panel with the filmmakers and representatives from local immigration and transgender rights groups will follow this special “sneak peek” screening.
