Bookmans, The Loft Cinema and The Arizona Browncoats present the CAN'T STOP THE SERENITY 2009 double-feature, a Whedon-tastic cinematic global charity event benefiting the international women's rights advocacy group, Equality Now! and The Women's Foundation of Southern Arizona right here in Tucson .
Be the first in Tucson to see Joss Whedon's 2008 writer's strike project DR. HORRIBLE'S SING-ALONG BLOG on the Big Screen. Join Dr. Horrible in his quest to join the Evil League of Evil, destroy his nemesis Captain Hammer, and win the heart of laundry mate Penny. Co-starring Nathan Fillion, aka Serenity's Mal, as Captain Hammer, Felicia Day as Penny, and Neil Patrick Harris (Doogie Howser and How I Met Your Mother) as Dr. Horrible.
Featuring a very special, ONE TIME ONLY appearance by Tucson 's very own Vampire Bunny Slayers shadow cast, performing live with the show!
Following DR. HORRIBLE, stick around for a Whedon-verse costume contest (come dressed as your favorite Firefly, Buffy, Angel, Dr. Horrible, or Dollhouse character, with a prize awarded to the best costume), a raffle of fabulous, out-of-this-world prizes, and more!
Rounding out the evening will be the 35mm feature presentation of SERENITY, the 2005 cowboy space opera based on Whedon's classic TV series Firefly.
