The bold new vision from legendary filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky (El Topo)!

“By turns playful, tragic and surprisingly light on its feet … a welcome comeback for Alejandro Jodorowsky.” – Scott Foundas, Variety

“Jodorowsky's first film in 23 years is a Fellini-esque voyage into his past. It's wild and messy, but also vibrantly creative, the work of a boundary-pushing artist who hasn't finished exploring.” – T’Cha Dunlevy, Montreal Gazette

“An arresting spectacle … a bizarre, chaotic and startling film … unexpectedly touching. Alejandro Jodorowsky’s first film for more than two decades is a triumphant return, which mixes autobiography, politics, torture and fantasy to exuberant, moving effect.” – Peter Bradshaw, Guardian UK

After a 23-year hiatus, The Dance of Reality marks the triumphant return of Alejandro Jodorowsky, the visionary Chilean filmmaker behind the cult classics El Topo and The Holy Mountain. In this radiantly visceral autobiographical film, a young Jodorowsky is confronted by a collection of compelling characters that contributed to his burgeoning surreal consciousness. The legendary filmmaker was born in 1929 in Tocopilla, a coastal town on the edge of the Chilean desert, where the film was shot. Blending his personal history with metaphor, mythology, and poetry, The Dance of Reality reflects Jodorowsky’s philosophy that reality is not objective but rather a “dance” created by our own imaginations.
