Join Loft Program Director Jeff Yanc for an informal discussion on watching documentaries with a critical eye. Topics such as Documentary Subjectivity and Ethics in Documentary Filmmaking will be discussed and illustrated with clips from a wide range of provocative and entertaining documentary films. This introductory overview will aim to provide viewers with a foundation for developing critical thinking skills when watching documentaries, giving them the tools to begin an analysis of how documentary “reality” can be constructed and shaped by the filmmaking process. Talk about docs and become a more engaged viewer, because in the world of documentaries, watching the film is just the beginning … (90 mins.)
