On the Other Side of the Tracks is a hilarious, high-octane action comedy about mismatched cops in the grand tradition of Beverly Hills Cop, Lethal Weapon and 48 Hours. Fresh from his César Award-winning performance in The Intouchables, Omar Sy plays Ousmane, a risk-taking, rule-breaking plainclothes detective working in the rough Paris suburbs. When a wealthy woman winds up dead in the hood, Ousmane has to partner with slick city cop, François (Laurent Lafitte), to track down the killers. Soon the stakes are raised, and the odd couple partners discover that they have more in common than they realized. As well as rousing car chases and shootouts, On the Other Side of the Tracks features rapid-fire banter between the two very funny leads as they work through their differences in classic 1980s “buddy cop” style. From start to finish this is an absolute crowd-pleaser that gives Hollywood action films a run for their money.
