Late Night Cult Classics at The Loft Cinema! The greatest cult movies of all-time are back on the big screen!
“The B-movie energy that pulses through this grindhouse wallow is not to be denied. Moralists, beware. Hobo with a Shotgun looks like a garish cartoon puked up by a filmmaker overstuffed with cheap thrills and celluloid scuzz. What's not to like?” – Peter Travers, Rolling Stone
Inspired by grungy B-movies from the ‘70s and '80s, the cartoonishly violent Hobo with a Shotgun is an irreverent, splattery action flick starring iconic actor Rutger Hauer (Blade Runner) as a homeless vigilante who blows away scumbags with his trusty pump-action shotgun. A Hobo (Hauer) jumps from a freight car, hoping for a fresh start in a new city. Instead, he finds himself trapped in an urban hell. This is a world where criminals rule the streets and Drake, the city's crime boss, reigns supreme alongside his sadistic murderous sons, Slick and Ivan. Amidst the chaos, the Hobo comes across a pawn shop window displaying a secondhand lawn mower. He dreams of making the city a beautiful place and starting a new life for himself. But as the brutality continues to rage around him, he notices a shotgun hanging above the lawn mower... he quickly realizes the only way to make a difference in this town is with that gun in his hand and two shells in its chamber! Written by John Davies and directed by Jason Eisener (who also brought the world the classic Christmas horror short Treevenge), Hobo with a Shotgun began life as a fake trailer used to promote Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino's trash epic, Grindhouse.
