Exiting Another Factory: Artists’ Video Screening

Exiting the Factory was a title used for the US release of La Sortie des usines Lumière à Lyon, a film by French director, Louis Lumière. Created in 1895, this black and white silent film was less than one minute long and featured workers leaving the Lumière plant. The moving image has come a long way since 1895. Exiting Another Factory, features the artworks of ten University of Arizona School of Art graduate students who incorporate time-based forms in their practice.
