“A bona fide classic, featuring Audrey Hepburn’s most delightful performance. Breakfast at Tiffany's should be in regular rotation on every film lover’s movie calendar, for now and forevermore. – James S. Rich, DVD Talk

Audrey Hepburn takes on New York City as madcap glamour girl Holly Golightly in the iconic, trend-setting romantic comedy Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Blake Edward’s beguilingly wistful adaptation of Truman Capote’s famed novella tells the story of urban sophisticate Holly Golighty, an enchantingly neurotic party girl decked out in designer dresses and costume jewelry, living off the gifts of various gentlemen callers. George Peppard is her upstairs neighbor, a struggling writer and “kept” man financed by a steely older woman (Patricia Neal). His growing friendship with the lonely Holly soon turns to love and threatens the delicate balance of both their compromised lives. Taking liberties with Capote’s bittersweet story, Edwards and screenwriter George Axelrod turn New York into a city of starry-eyed lovers and create a poignant portrait of Holly, a frustrated romantic with a secret past and a hidden vulnerability. Henry Mancini earned Oscars for the hit song “Moon River” and the tastefully romantic score, and the film itself – by turns elegant, hilarious and downright heartbreaking – went on to become one of the all-time great screen romances, as well as a refined slice of high society bohemian chic that forever canonized Hepburn as the epitome of early ‘60s style and grace.
