Dr. Masaru Emoto has photographed thousands of water crystals in his years of water research. The most beautiful crystals are those formed after the water is exposed to the words “love and gratitude.” In books The Miracle of Water, The Hidden Messages in Water and in the movie What the Bleep, Dr. Emoto uses these words as the basis for a discussion on how the vibration and the resonance of words can actually change your life.

Emoto says that when we speak positive words, we send out that vibration to others. They in turn emit positive words, and as a results we are touched by the positive vibration. The energies are exchanged through resonance. Love and gratitude exemplify the principle of resonance—working together, they create a balance of energy that yields a beautiful and harmonious crystal according to Emoto’s research.

Emoto suggests that we should apply this lesson from the water crystals to our own lives. He says we are in partnership with all the people living in the world - we are continually giving to others, just as we receive from them. So any words that give positive energy to another are certain to bring back positive energy to the giver. As Emoto relates, “If you shine a light on those around you with the words you use, you won’t ever have to walk in the dark.”

Masaru Emoto is an internationally renowned researcher who has gained worldwide acclaim by showing how water is deeply connected to our individual and collective consciousness. Born in Japan, he is a graduate of the Yokahama Municipal University’s Department of Humanities and Sciences with a focus on International Relations. In 1992, he received certification from the Open International University as a Doctor of Alternative Medicine.
